"Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva's Mantra for the Extinction of Destiny and Karma" is recorded in the sixth volume of the "Dharani Collection Sutra" in the 18th volume of the "Taisho Shinshu Daizokyo" in the Esoteric Buddhism section. The page number of the Taisho Tripitaka is the bottom column of the 839th edition. The "Mantra to Eliminate Fixed Karma" was actually originally named "The Mantra of the Dharmakaya of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva". By practicing this mantra, one can become one with the Dharmakaya of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, and eventually achieve the same great wishes and merits as Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, which means becoming the incarnation of the great bodhisattva. At the end of the Ming Dynasty, Master Ouyi and his followers held an altar at Mount Jiuhua and chanted this mantra five million times in an effort to transform the disaster of war at that time. Fixed karma refers to the good or bad consequences that will definitely be rewarded. It is difficult to change, but it is not completely unreversible. Usually, the term fixed karma has a negative meaning, that is, it refers to bad karmic retribution. But we must also understand that the nature of sin is empty and is created by the mind. When the mind is extinguished, sin will also be extinguished. Sin is attached to the mind. If the mind is extinguished and returns to the true void, where does sin depend? However, this level of cultivation is not something that ordinary beings can achieve, so it is said that fixed karma is difficult to change. If sentient beings with superior roots understand that the nature of sin is empty, and they uphold the "Dharmakaya Mantra of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva" for a moment and enter into samadhi, they will be in harmony with the Dharmakaya of the Bodhisattva. Then the Dharmakaya has no form, its essence is empty, and the mind is imprinted on the true void without holding on to it, and sin will not arise! Therefore, this mantra is also called "The Mantra to Eliminate Fixed Karma". It has been passed down for a long time and does not need to be renamed. You should continue to maintain your firm faith and not have any doubts. Over time, great results will be achieved!

The "Ancient Sanskrit Mantra to Eliminate Fixed Karma" is the subtle original mind of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, which was spoken in Samadhi out of compassion for the suffering sentient beings. If everyone can observe the precepts with a righteous mind and sincerely recite this mantra without interruption, they can be in harmony with Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva and directly inherit his blessing and vows. During the Ming Dynasty, the ninth patriarch of the Pure Land School, Master Huiyi, specialized in the practice of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva. He also practiced in seclusion at Jiuhua Mountain in Anhui Province for 100 days, chanting the "Ancient Sanskrit Mantra for Eliminating Fixed Karma" 5 million times, and made a vow to dedicate his merits: "I will give up my body in the next life, be born in front of the Buddha, face Amitabha, serve all Buddhas, be personally granted predictions, return to the world, and lead all lost people to return to the secret treasure together."
